A structural engineering opportunity offering progression to associate. This is a role with a building structures and heavy civil engineering sectors. The role is in response to a growing project workload and forms part of the company’s long term succession planning. You would be joining a team known for delivering complex work with care, consistency, and a strong sense of professional responsibility.

Your Role: You will be involved from the early stages of each project, advising clients and agreeing fees, through to completion. Most projects range in value from £10 million to £100 million. With support from the London Director, you will help shape the initial design approach and manage the allocation of work across the internal team and, when needed, external consultants. You will also contribute to decisions about which projects to take on, support new business efforts, and help mentor junior staff.

Company Overview: This is a privately owned multidisciplinary consultancy employing over 100 engineers and technicians. They have decades of experience  including building structures, bridges, ports and harbours, water and environmental, and industrial and energy projects. Their work spans the UK and overseas, and they are known for delivering technically demanding projects in a practical and economical way. They support staff development through structured training and provide guidance for those working towards chartered status.

Your Profile: You will be a Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (ICE, IStructE or equivalent) with a minimum of ten years’ experience in the design and delivery of building structures. You are likely to be operating at senior or project engineer level and prepared to assume greater responsibility. A thorough understanding of reinforced concrete and steel design is essential, as is proficiency in AutoCAD and industry-standard structural design software. You will demonstrate technical rigour, a collaborative mindset, and the confidence to lead complex projects from concept through to completion.
