Overview

Our client, a major contractor is a profitable, well managed independently owned business. Their success is largely attributable to their ability to mitigate risk through careful work selection and tendering, detailed technical diligence and the ability to innovate. Their engineering team enjoys low levels of staff turnover and a range of attractive employee benefits. The vacancy is the result of a sustained increase of work in heavy civils focusing on rail, nuclear, tunnelling and highways and major building projects typically valued at £50m upwards. They are looking for a temporary works engineer who wants long term career prospects and a focus on challenging large scale projects.

You will provide full design and consultation to site based and tender teams. There will be extensive liaison with clients requiring occasional presentations. You should have experience of steel, concrete and masonry design. Furthermore, you should be familiar with some of the specialist aspects of temporary works such as falsework, formwork, façade support, ground support, propping, foundations for tower cranes, mobile crane hoists and gantries.

Your Profile: You should be a degree qualified civil engineer and be chartered (or nearing) with the Institution of civil engineers, Institution of Structural Engineers or equivalent.
