An engineering management opportunity for a civil engineer with one of the North’s most successful medium sized consultancies. Their expertise spans heavy civil engineering, building structures, development infrastructure and project management.
Our client is looking for an engineer to lead a small and capable team, delivering drainage, highways, and flood risk schemes for the private and public sectors. The position provides progression to director level, their reputation, strong trading and financial position provides added security and much future potential.
Your Role: Technical leadership will be your main focus. You will be involved at client advisory stages looking at feasibility and strategic planning. You will be clients (typically developers, contractors, private and public sector client organisations) main point of contact. The majority of your time will be spent overseeing design production, and mentoring and supporting staff, some of whom are working towards ICE chartered / incorporated status. You will work closely with a civil engineering director, support business development activities and provide input on strategy and business efficiency improvements.

Your Profile: The company’s nurturing nature places an emphasis on training and development. You should share an interest in developing and supporting staff through mentorship and hands‑on technical guidance. This is a position where your personality, and your ability to communicate effectively, will be the key to maintaining productive relationships with your clients and your team. These qualities should be backed up by a solid technical background gained in a consulting engineering environment. You should be working at senior engineer level, or be an associate looking for swift progression to director level.
Qualifications Required: A chartered civil engineer with roads and drainage design and delivery experience, including adoptable roads and sewers, SUDS and flood risk assessments. Familiar with industry standard software such as Civil 3D and InfoDrainage.
