Overview

A position offering a new career trajectory with a transition from consulting engineering to the client side of the industry. Our client is a successful major developer with a multi-discipline design capability and a reputation for providing career development opportunities and excellent terms of employment. The company runs an ICE approved training scheme and a range of in-house training programmes.

Reporting to the head of technical services, you will be a key member of their in-house civil design team in an office employing fifty staff. Your role will include providing front-end advice, drainage and roads design, co-ordination and site monitoring. Your line manager, a chartered civil engineer, will provide support, guidance and additional mentorship if you are working towards ICE chartership or incorporation. The position offers experience in the development side of the business that can open up a range of career opportunities, plus interesting and varied work. You will work closely with their land development team to advise on the suitability of new sites and co-ordinate designs with in-house architects. There will be liaison with utilities and local authorities and regular site visits.

You should be a degree or HND qualified (or equivalent) civil engineer with four or more years drainage or road design experience. This should include exposure to highways or drainage design, knowledge of AutoCAD and industry standard design software such as WinDes, MicroDrainage, Civils 3D or similar. A current UK driving license is essential, an expensed company car will be provided if required.
