A career opportunity with a structural engineering consultancy that has a fine reputation and an engineering heritage stretching back many decades. Their expertise in building structures covers complex new projects and technically challenging refurbishments. They have been responsible for ensuring the structural integrity and development of some of the UK’s most cherished and important buildings, their projects are challenging, intriguing, and often culturally significant.

Profile Required: They are looking for a degree qualified structural engineer, with five or more years design experience, who is working towards chartered status with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE), or an equivalent body. Your experience should have given you knowledge of design using most of the commonly used materials;  steel, concrete, and masonry.

Your Role: You will report to an associate and have close input into projects from concept through to completion. There will be regular contact with clients, who will include leading architects, developers, and custodians of historic buildings. You will be required to learn and develop as an engineer and as a communicator who can develop working relationships with clients and other engineering disciplines. Projects will utilise all the commonly used materials. In addition to your engineering duties, you will be expected to work towards achieving chartered status with the ICE or IStructE.
