An opportunity for a civil/structural engineer with temporary works design experience. Our client is a consultancy known for their deep expertise of temporary works and construction  engineering. They work on some of the capital’s most most complex projects.

Company Snapshot: An independently owned consultancy with extensive temporary works and construction engineering  expertise. They have traded for over two decades,  and have secured a solid reputation supporting major design and build contractors. The business employs  a dozen engineers and technicians, and it is underpinned by healthy cash reserves and strong demand for their services. Their work leans towards complex, high value urban projects. They are involved in  design, checking and buildability advice for basements, sequencing, propping, façade retention and structural alterations, with a strong emphasis on practical, solutions.

Your Role:  You will work on steel and reinforced concrete designs for façade retention, basement excavations, propping, shoring and a wide range of temporary works solutions. The work covers detailed design, construction and sequencing, and you will provide pre‑construction advice to project managers and directors. The position combines technical design with practical construction knowledge and develops a strong understanding of buildability, giving you skills that are valued by consultants,  contractors and developers. There will be regular client contact and London site visits.

Profile Required: A chartered civil (MICE) or structural (MIStructE) engineer with a strong technical focus. Some experience of temporary works design or construction engineering is essential. Good interpersonal skills and lateral thing skills are essential.
