Overview

A structural engineer with project engineering experience is required by a leading independent consultancy. This is a busy firm associated with high quality work led by their building structures division. You will work closely with clients and be involved in scheme design and design delivery. The ideal candidate will have steel and concrete design experience and be ready for a more management focused career.

Your first project will be a major, luxury hotel refurbishment and extension in Central London. It entails the addition of a new basement level and ground floor and basement slab, new and strengthened superstructure and the addition of a new roof terrace. They are a busy practice, their London office has a strong order book of £mm, new and refurbishment projects in London and the South East. Reporting to an associate you will collaborate at conceptual design and fee negotiation stages. You will provide guidance to engineers and technicians and be responsible for programming work and checking designs.
The company is a well resourced, they use TEKLA, Robot and TEDDS engineering software and designs are fully BIM co-ordinated. Their client base is excellent and a commitment to client care means they win much repeat business with prestige clients in buoyant sectors. Assistance to achieve chartership is provided with IStructE and ICE approved training.

You will need at least five years’ experience, well developed interpersonal skills and a degree in civil or structural engineering from a reputable university.
