Move into a project delivery, client focused role: This is a position for a building structures engineer who wants to develop their leadership and management skills. Our client’s London office has work in the education, re-generation, commercial, hotel and leisure sectors. They are looking for a structural engineer with a strong technical background, plus good interpersonal skills and commercial acumen. You will be the main point of contact for architects and developers and will be involved in scheme design, design supervision and multidiscipline co-ordination. Design production will be carried out in London, with additional support from their other UK’s offices. There will be regular visits to projects, predominantly in London and the South.

Your background should include a good academic record, ideally a 2:1 in civil or structural engineering, or above, from a reputable university. This should have been followed by a career working within the consulting sector designing building superstructures. Knowledge of steel and concrete design to European standards is essential. Exposure to masonry and timber would be advantageous. If you are not already chartered you should be working towards achieving chartered status with the ICE or IStructE. Training and support is provided to help you realise this goal. Some experience of takng responsibility for your own workload and guiding more junior engineers or technicians is desirable.
