An opportunity to join a multi-discipline consulting practice that is growing their civil and structural division. They are looking for a civil/structural engineer with a strong technical background and good breadth of experience. The company is especially active within the rail sector, this presents a wide variety of work on bridges, depots, car parks (including multi-storey) and stations. In addition, they work within the industrial, healthcare and education sectors.

Reporting to the director of civil and structural engineering you will play a key role in project delivery and the supervision of junior engineers and technicians. The position is client facing and you will be involved in specification, site supervision, quality control and developing designs from first principals. Your workload will encompass new build, maintenance, and improvement schemes covering reinforced concrete, steel and masonry structures.

About you: You should be a degree qualified civil or structural engineer and be working towards chartership or have chartered status with the ICE or IStructE. A design background gained within a consulting or contracting environment that extends across structures and civil engineering. Previous rail experience is not essential, a broad knowledge base is required enabling you to tackle a range of technical challenges. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential, there will be extensive interaction with clients and third parties. You should also have some working knowledge of AutoCAD or Microstation.
