An opportunity for an engineer with drainage design expertise offering flexibility and a reduced working week. The practice is one of the UK’s longest established businesses in their sector, they have a secured, long term workload stretching ten years into the future.

Three Day Week: This is a permanent position offering a three day week, there will be some flexibility around the days you elect to work, providing you meet delivery deadlines.

Hybrid Working: The company offers a hybrid working model for employees who want to reduce commuting times, this position can be predominantly home based if preferred.  A company workstation, phone and IT support will be provided.

Company Overview: Highly regarded and independently owned, the practice has been trading for over a century. They employ more than two hundred staff and have expertise in civil & structural engineering, architecture, building surveying and project management. Their civil and structural division is the fastest growing part of their business and one of their most profitable, it has secured, on-going commissions in growth sectors.

Duties: Your role will encompass designing and detailing of drainage systems, flood risk assessments and the supervision of reports and specialist designs produced by outside consultants. Their workload encompasses building and industrial projects, with a growing emphasis on the energy, renewables and mission critical sectors. You will work alongside a team of civil/structural engineers as the in-house expert on drainage and flood risk issues and work closely with the principal engineer and divisional partner.

Profile Required: A civil engineer with experience of drainage design and assessing flood risk. You should be either chartered, or incorporated through the ICE or CIWEM. You will need the ability to plan and manage your own workload. There will be extensive contact with colleagues, clients and external stakeholders, good interpersonal skills will be essential.
