An opportunity for a senior bridge design engineer offering long term work on HS2. Our client is a highly regarded, independently owned design consultancy with a reputation for heavy civil engineering expertise, employing over two hundred engineers internationally. They have a distinguished record of designing and delivering projects in the UK and internationally, encompassing road, rail, bridges, stations, tunnels and earthworks. They have significant experience designing complex bridges that deploy a range of construction techniques including cable stayed, incremental launched, composite, pre-cast and insitu. This employee owned consultancy has a high level of technical expertise with a particular talent for constructability and innovation. The company, which is employee owned, is structured to enable information to flow freely ensuring the full weight of their combined engineering expertise can be utilised. It is a supportive environment which will suit an engineer who enjoys delivering work in a team environment.
You should be a chartered civil engineer with at least five years’ experience of designing bridges. Ideally this include some history of working on new projects. Your background should include experience of designing reinforced concrete and steel bridges, from conceptual stages through to detail design and design management. You will need experience of industry standard design and analysis software such as Lusus, Bentley, Oasys or similar packages. In addition, good interpersonal skills and the ability to forge productive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders is essential.
