Overview
A building structures engineer with technical and creative flair is required by this acclaimed civil & structural design practice. Structural engineering is their lead discipline and their engineers are split into project teams, each managed by a partner. The firm is widely recognised for the training and experience their engineers gain. You will be involved at every stage of the design process, and care will be taken to ensure you understand the technical, delivery and commercial aspects of the projects you are assigned to. This will prepare you to progress and to start managing your own workload. Their projects include commercial, arts, healthcare and educational buildings, historic restorations, bridges and sculptures. You will regularly collaborate with leading architects and can expect to work on schemes that attract industry interest. Their designs have picked up RIBA, RICS and Civic Trust awards. Projects will make innovative use of a range of materials.
Your Profile: You should have a 2:1 or above in structural or civil engineering and be keen to take advantage of the mentoring and training provided to achieve chartership with the ICE or IStructE. A minimum of three years consulting engineering experience is required, this should have given you a good grasp of steel and concrete design. The collaborative nature of their work will suit a structural engineer with good interpersonal and teamworking skills.
