Overview

This is a chance to join a well-regarded civil and structural engineering practice where your development is taken seriously. You will be involved in every stage of the design process—from early concept work through to final delivery. Projects are varied, often complex, and typically high-profile, giving you the chance to sharpen both your technical and practical skills.

You will work closely with project managers on site to help resolve design issues and ensure buildability. Your mentor, a senior associate who holds chartered status in both civil and structural engineering, will guide you towards professional qualification. The practice has an excellent track record in supporting engineers through ICE and IStructE chartership, with consistently high pass rates.

Company Overview: An independent consultancy with a strong reputation in building structures and related civil infrastructure. They have been trading for over forty years and employ more than one hundred staff across the UK. Known for their stability, they have maintained secure employment through changing economic conditions. Projects range from new builds to complex refurbishments, typically valued between £40m and £100m. The company is selective about its workload, which helps maintain a steady pace and high staff retention.

Profile Required: You should hold a degree in civil or structural engineering with a 2:1 or above, and have at least three years’ experience in structural design. Your work should include reinforced concrete and steel structures. GIStructE or GMICE status is expected, along with a clear commitment to becoming chartered.
