A bright civil or structural engineer is being sought by this leading, privately owned international insurance loss adjuster. This is an opportunity to apply your engineering expertise and to learn new skills that will open career prospects in the rewarding insurance sector. Our client operates across several highly technical sectors, many of their large and complex claims require the expertise of their Engineering, Construction & Infrastructure division. The projects effected typically include high speed rail, sports stadia, desalination plants, tunnelling works, toll roads, high rise buildings and power stations. They are looking for a bright engineer who has a proven engineering background gained by working in the consulting or contracting sectors. The nature of the work will mean working closely with representatives of the insured and the Insurers, at stake are multimillion pound claims that need to be understood and a fair settlement agreed upon. It is not unusual for a claim to be resolved as the result of face to face negotiations. This requires a high level of written and verbal communication skills. You will undergo a period of rigorous on the job training and will be encouraged to become professionally qualified with the Chartered Institution of Loss Adjusters, support and study leave is provided. The position provides variety, technical interest and career progression. You will be required to make occasional short overseas visits. You should have a good academic background with a 2:1 or above from a recognised university and ideally be chartered with the institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) or Institution of Structural Engineers(MIStructE). If you are not yet chartered you should have completed your core objectives and be ready to take your chartered professional review or part three exam.
