Overview
This senior building structures position would suit an engineer looking for an established, high quality, medium size practice, providing progression and technical interest. Our client’s London studios’ workload is predominantly in the capital and the South East. They are looking for an engineer able to work closely with clients at initial advisory stages, who can also manage project delivery, ensure engineering production standards and provide guidance to junior engineers. Working alongside the structures partner, your role will have a technical and management focus.
Company Overview: An independently owned civil and structural consultancy employing just over fifty staff. The practice is known for their technical expertise across civil, structural and developer led infrastructure disciplines. Their building structures capability is especially visible, with conservation, hotel / leisure, industrial, education projects, amongst many others, receiving industry interest. They are a medium size practice that regularly wins out when pitted against some of the country’s larger consultancies. They have a sizeable contingent of chartered civil and structural engineers, low levels of staff turnover and offer clients a consistent level of personalised customer care, engineering quality and value. This has been a winning combination throughout several decades of trading, and continued success means they are steadily expanding. The career prospects joining the firm at this stage of their evolution is especially promising.
Profile Required: A degree qualified civil or structural engineer with at least seven years structural design experience. You should be chartered or incorporated with the ICE, IStructE, or an equivalent body, or be close to achieving chartered status. Experienced in conceptual design, design delivery, client care and management of junior engineers and technicians. Knowledge of industry standard software such as TEKLA Structural Designer, Robot or TEDDS, or similar packages is essential, as is a background in RC and steel projects.
