Overview

An opportunity for a building structures engineer to have more creative and delivery input on major projects. This is a medium size consultancy that punches well above its weight, their engineers are immersed in the whole design process and have a high level of technical expertise. Their London office is led by a director and well known industry figure, he leads a five strong structures team that handles the companies larger and more complex commissions, with additional detail engineering support from their regional offices.

Your project workload will typically include large multi-storey schemes, frequently in city centre locations including hotel, mixed use commercial / retail and student accommodation. They have a long association with leading architects and developers and with an increase in orders and enquiries, future prospects are very promising.

Your Profile: You should be a building structures engineer with five or more years’ background in building structures consulting engineering. Your experience must include reinforced concrete and steel. Most importantly, you should be ready to move up to a position offering more involvement and responsibility for delivery. This may mean a much needed move away from a production line design environment. The support you will receive from the structures director will ensure you are quickly up to speed. Mentorship is also provided to achieve chartership with the IStructE or ICE if needed. You should be a degree qualified engineer and if not already professionally qualified be keen to achieve chartership status.
