Overview

Join a well manage contractor that is consistently returning good profits working on major civil and building projects. Their ability to minimise exposure to risk through careful tendering, detailed technical diligence and innovation is driving steady growth. The technical team enjoys low levels of staff turnover and a range of attractive employee benefits. The vacancy is the result of a sustained increase of work in heavy civils focusing on high speed rail, nuclear, tunnelling and highways and major building projects typically valued at fifty million pounds and upwards.

As a member of their technical division you will provide temporary works design expertise and provide advice to site based and tender teams. There will be extensive liaison with clients requiring occasional presentations. You should have experience of steel, concrete and masonry design. Furthermore, you should be familiar with some of the specialist aspects of temporary works such as falsework, formwork, façade support, ground support, propping, foundations for tower cranes, mobile crane hoists and gantries. You should be an incorporated or chartered engineer, or nearing chartership with the ICE or IStructE.
