Overview

An  opportunity for a chartered civil engineer and manager with extensive drainage and development infrastructure expertise and knowledge of civil works specifically for data centres. Our client is a well established national consultancy with a strong future workload for clients operating in buoyant sectors. Their civil engineering division is engaged on large scale projects with mission critical data centre work being by far their busiest sector.

You will be responsible for a team of engineers and technicians. The scope of works will encompass master planning, feasibility and pre-development engineering, flood management, approvals for adoptable highway and sewerage schemes and detail design delivery of roads and sustainable urban drainage schemes. Your involvement will start at client advisory stages and involve programming of works, quality control, mentoring and selection of new staff and the successful, profitable delivery of works packages.

Your profile: You should be a chartered civil (MICE), environmental (MCIWEM C.WEM) or equivalent engineer operating at associate or director level, or equivalent. Your management experience should be preceded by a technical grounding in drainage related infrastructure design. Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential, there will be regular contact with key clients and the need to provide leadership to a diverse team. In addition to day to day management you will provide input on operational and commercial issues.
