This associate level position offers further progression to director level. Our client is a highly capable and independent civil and structural practice with a substantial international and UK building structures workload. Bolstered by a robust, long term order book, they are in the midst of growing their business and implementing succession plans. They are looking for a structural engineer with technical and commercial acumen who can deliver major projects, and who has future leadership potential.

Company Overview: A long established and independently owned consultancy that employs over 150 staff. Their building structures division is working on new high-rise schemes, major refurbishments, healthcare, education and industrial projects. The firm has a reputation for their Innovative, practical, and economical structural designs, and the customer care they provide. They have a strong technical ability across building structures, civil structures, geotechnical and developer led infrastructure disciplines. Overseeing this is a team of chartered civil and chartered structural engineers, who also provide IStructE and ICE approved training. The practice provides good terms and conditions of employment and enjoys a low level of staff turnover.

Your Role: Reporting to the director of the London office and working alongside another associate, you will oversee a team of structural engineers and technicians. You will help to deliver their current structural workload, major schemes valued up to £150m in the UK and overseas. These projects are predominantly reinforced concrete and steel buildings. There will be co-ordination with architectural, civil, utilities and M&E services, and design schemes are  prepared to BIM level 2 standards. You will be involved in project selection and at project advisory and conceptual design stages. Your managerial duties will include forging close working relationships with existing clients, identifying new work, ensuring quality standards are upheld and staying updated on the latest structural engineering innovations and techniques.

Profile Required: An ICE or IStructE chartered engineer with a building structures design background. You should currently be working at Senior Project Engineer to Associate level, and your experience must include responsibility for project delivery and the supervision of junior engineering staff.  Good client facing skills are essential, you will need experience of collaborating closely with clients and an appreciation of the London building structures market. The position is in response to expansion and succession, it requires an individual capable of becoming a future member of their senior management team.
