Overview

Our client works on insurance related structural repairs throughout the UK. They have an opportunity for a degree qualified engineer, builder or building surveyor with experience of managing structural repairs. The position is home based, covering the Midlands and Northern Home Counties region, typically requiring 2-3 days of site visits per week. You will be working for a well organised major player operating in a busy sector, IT support and hardware including phone, iPad and laptop  will be provided and all work related travel expenses will be reimbursed.

Your role: Preparation of repair schedules and the supervision of appointed external contractors.  Working with homeowners, commercial landlords and housing associations. Ensuring quality standards and specifications are adhered to and that work is completed on time. Answering queries and requests for information from external contractors, clients and internal building consultants and surveyors.

Your Profile: A background in contracting or building consulting/ surveying with some understanding of repair techniques for damaged buildings. Site supervision experience with the ability to programme and deliver work to deadlines. Good communication skills with the ability to be diplomatic and empathetic with clients. Good organisational skills and the ability to work effectively from home. A degree in building/ construction, building surveying, civil or structural engineering. Ideally working towards professional membership of the CIOB, ICE, IStructE or RICS.
