Overview

An opportunity for a senior level building structures who is engineer ready for his or her next move up. You would be joining a firmly established independent practice with a reputation for high quality work and client care. Their project workload offers technical interest and scale spanning state of the art commercial schemes through to the conservation of historic buildings. They are looking for an engineer with a track record of delivering schemes from client advisory and negotiation stages through to completion. You will probably already be working at senior engineer or associate designate level and be looking to take on more managerial and commercial responsibility. Your duties will include concept design, programming, project delivery, mentoring and supervision of engineers, fee negotiation and business development.

Practice Overview: A long established, independently owned consulting practice with several UK offices. They are a medium size business specialising in building structures that is recognised for its breadth and depth of expertise. This covers the design of new and refurbishment projects, urban-regeneration, forensic investigations, expert witness, and conservation. This structural engineering work is supported by an established civil engineering infrastructure team. The practice has consistently performed over the decades, they have avoided reliance on any one sector, their current workload being split between the private, public, health, industrial, education and institutional sectors.

Your Profile: The role will suit someone who can offer leadership skills that are backed up by strong engineering expertise within the building structures sector. This will include experience of medium and large projects in steel, concrete and regularly used materials. This is a firm that prides its self on proving its employees with excellent working conditions and prospects. You should be a leader who takes the welfare and development of staff in your care as seriously as client satisfaction. You will ideally be a chartered structural engineer (MIStructE) or chartered civil engineer (MICE), or be incorporated.
