Overview

This leading privately owned consultancy has extensive highways and transportation expertise. Their London office is planning and designing major projects for the private and public sectors in the UK and internationally. They are looking for an engineer to play a leading role in the management and continued success of their transportation division. This requires a chartered engineer and experienced manager who has the benefit of a solid technical background.

The role: To oversee a team of engineers and transport planners preparing major schemes for developers and local authorities. You will be the main point of contact for clients and ensure work is fully co-ordinated with other engineering disciplines. Your team will help clients secure planning permissions, through to design. This will include development and master planning, traffic & parking analysis, section 278 works and advice for public enquiries. All projects are delivered with a special focus on sustainability, client care. As a member of their management team you will provide input on commercial and business development issues, staff welfare and training.

About you: A chartered engineer, chartered with the CIHT, MICE or an equivalent recognised body. Strong interpersonal skills, able to gain the confidence of key clients, capable of guiding and motivating staff. A technical background in transport or transportation planning and knowledge of industry standard software such as ARCADT, PSCADY and GIS.
