Overview

An opportunity for an incorporated, or chartered civil engineer or equivalent to work on the client side of the industry with a prestigious operating company. Our client owns and manages a substantial, expanding estate with extensive infrastructure that includes roads, pavements, drainage, buildings and specialist logistics facilities. Reporting to the head of engineering, a chartered civil engineer and supported by a team of inspectors and technicians, your role will oversee the design and construction of new, improvement and maintenance projects on roads, drainage, bridge /development infrastructure and a variety of substantial building assets.

Duties will include the preparation of contract documentation and specifications, liaison with external consultants and management of appointed contractors. Smaller projects will often be designed in-house. Other important duties include acting as client’s representative, CDM co-ordination and identifying potential health and safety risks. A varied workload will include specialist capital projects as well as planned and reactive maintenance schemes. Your background should include site experience and project delivery and have provided you with an understanding of civil engineering design.
