Overview

A building structures engineer with steel and concrete design experience is required for the new Croydon office of this successful international UK consultancy. You will be joining an independently owned firm working on projects in the UK, mainland Europe and the United States. The structural team works closely alongside their in-house civil engineering and M&E disciplines, providing a fully integrated service. Reporting to an associate you will be part of a small project team, it is structured to ensure your involvement in the whole design and delivery process. Their larger projects are for the corporate sector including major banks, broadcast media, oil companies, and corporate headquarters. Aside from working on new projects they have extensive expertise in large scale refurbishment schemes and the re-purposing of landmark listed buildings in London.

They are looking for a building structures engineer who wants to develop their skills and career. You should have around two to five years building structures design experience and a good degree in civil or structural engineering. The company provides IStructE and ICE approved training and mentorship. Whilst existing steel and concrete design experience is essential you will also develop knowledge of other materials. Good team working and interpersonal skills are essential, there will be close collaboration with clients, architects, in-house M&E and civil engineers, with occasional site visits. The position will develop your technical and project engineering skills preparing the way for you to take on a more senior position with responsibility for your own projects.
