Overview

This successful medium size civil and structural consultancy has an opportunity for a building structures engineer looking for more project delivery experience. The company operates nationally through several regional offices. Their Kent office works in the education, historic, healthcare, residential and commercial sectors. Over the decades the business has taken care to cultivate a well balanced client base, the result is a consistent workload returning healthy fee margins across the private and public sectors. The company is focused on delivering structural engineering designs that are practical, economical and elegant. A high level of customer care underpins the service they provide.

Your role will be to produce scheme and detailed design of new and refurbishment projects, whilst ensuring quality and project deadlines are met. There will be frequent contact with clients, regular design team meetings and occasional site visits throughout the South East. You will be involved in detailed and scheme designs of steel, concrete, masonry and timber projects.  You will provide guidance to junior engineers and technicians and in turn have the support of senior engineers with mentoring from a structural director.

Experience is valued as highly as qualifications. You should have around five years or more building structures design experience and be fully conversant in steel and reinforced  concrete design, with knowledge of using design and analysis software and Auto CAD.   In addition you will need good interpersonal skills and the ability to form productive working relationships with clients and colleagues.
