Overview

A civil and structural engineer is required by a successful multi-discipline engineering consultancy. Their civil and structural division has a growing order book for established clients within busy sectors, notably rail healthcare and education projects. Working alongside the director of civil & structural engineering you will play a leading role in delivering projects whilst gaining the experience to further progress and grow with the practice.

Duties: Work with clients to prepare specifications and designs from first principles  covering steel, masonry and reinforced concrete. This will include rail and building structures offering a variety of work on new and improvement schemes. Provide guidance to junior engineers and technicians, checking quality and accuracy of calculations produced. Carrying out site surveys, preparation of reports and where your expertise allows, taking ownership of the delivery of your own projects. Providing assistance and reporting on the financial control, progress and resource planning of projects.

About You: A degree qualified civil or structural design engineer with four or more years of consulting experience. This could have been gained within the building structures, rail, infrastructure or industrial sectors. A chartered or incorporated civil or structural engineer or approaching chartered status. Some working knowledge of Auto CAD or Microstation. Good interpersonal and communication skills enabling you to work well with clients, colleagues and third parties. An interest in progressing your career and making a contribution to company with a commitment to providing a high level of customer satisfaction and plans for growth. Occasional site and client visits require that you have a valid UK driving licence.
