Overview

An opportunity for an intermediate level quantity surveyor to gain major project exposure and invaluable client side experience. Your first project will be a £250m expansion programme encompassing heavy civil engineering and building works.  This career role is with a leading owner/operator that manages and develops major building and civil infrastructure. Their expanding portfolio includes roads, bridges, pavement, drainage, buildings, logistics and support facilities.  You will play a vital role as part of their project management and commercial team and receive support, training and career development opportunities. You will be based on site with flexibility to work from home 2-3 days per week.

Your role: Reporting to the project director you will provide quantity surveying and commercial support for a range of civil engineering and building packages, they are part of a significant new expansion and re-development project. This will involve working alongside the project managers overseeing individual packages and providing dedicated quantity surveying support. Your duties will include providing monthly valuations, verifying payment applications, periodic revisions of cost plans, advice on procurement routes, cost planning and cost reporting.

About you: Educated to HND, A level standard or above with four or more years quantity surveying or construction procurement experience. Familiar with the NEC form of contract and the fundamental principles of contract and cost  management. Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a range of internal and external stakeholders. Well developed reporting and organisational skills.
