Overview

An opportunity for a chartered civil or structural engineer to be home based and to work for a major player in the buoyant insurance sector. Our client is a leading international loss adjuster with a steadily growing workload throughout the UK. They are looking for an engineer with a comprehensive understanding of the design and construction industry to become part of a team investigating complex subsidence claims. The position provides a varied split of site and home office work, interspersed with occasional meetings with colleagues in their regional and head office and brokers. Your role will involve the initial building defect diagnosis and the preparation of appraisals and technical reports. You will ensure remediation measures comply with planning and building regulations and that CDM and party wall issues are correctly addressed.

You should have good organisational enabling you to take responsibility for your own case load. There will be regular travel and occasional overnight stays during peak demand periods, all of which will be fully expensed. Good communications skills are essential as there is the need to prepare accurate and well articulated reports. In addition, there will be contact with a number of internal and external stakeholders. This is an industry offering plenty of scope for career progression and you will have the option to train and acquire recognised insurance industry accreditations & qualifications.
