Overview

A structural engineer is required by a successful and long established building and civil engineering consultancy working in the residential, education, health and care sectors. This is a well regarded medium sized practice with new and refurbishment projects valued between £250k to £80m. Their building structures team provides a high level of technical expertise with a focus on client care and value for money. The practice is independently owned, provides excellent working conditions and is credited with working on numerous award winning projects.

They are looking for a building structures engineer with experience that includes undertaking inspections and preparing reports on buildings with defects. Your role will be to conduct surveys on a range of buildings in the Kent, London and South East region in general. In addition, you will provide structural design input on a range of new and refurbishment projects. Broad structural knowledge of the commonly used building materials is advantageous.

You should be a degree qualified engineer who is either chartered or approaching chartered status with the ICE or IStructE. Good verbal and written communication skills are essential, there will be regular design team meetings and client contact and the need to prepare accurate and clear reports.
