Company overview: Established for over fifty years our client offers building structures, civil engineering, environmental and mechanical & electrical expertise. Their building structures division employs twenty-five staff and works on projects frequently above £40m in value. This work is UK wide encompassing commercial, residential, re-generation, healthcare, arts and educational facilities. They frequently provide integrated multidiscipline designs for clients. Their clients include leading developers and architects, they have received a number of industry awards for engineering innovation.

Duties: You will report to the structures director and manage schemes from client consultation stage through to completion. This will involve scheme design, assisting with fee negotiations, programming work and project delivery. There will be regular meetings with clients and occasional site visits. You will  work closely with your peers from other disciplines to provide fully co-ordinated designs. You will be closely involved in the recruitment and management of staff within your team.

Experience required: Your track record and potential is of particular importance to our client. Chartership with the ICE or IStructE is preferred but it is not essential, you may be on the way to chartership or be an incorporated engineer. It is vital that your background has given you a thorough understanding of steel, concrete, masonry and timber design. This should be accompanied by a track record of managing and delivering your own projects. There will be frequent interaction with clients, stakeholders, colleagues and staff under your care. This means you will need good interpersonal and communication skills.
