Overview

An opportunity for a chartered civil or structural engineer to move into the buoyant insurance sector. The position is partly home based, and you will be fully equipped and supported to run operations remotely. You will be joining an international loss adjusting practice with extensive expertise in the building and civil engineering sectors with a network of UK offices and an excellent reputation. You will be part of a team of adjusted drawn from the civil, structural and building surveying professions. Your case load will focus on major losses, subsidence and general perils claims categorised as “high net worth” and “medium net worth”.

Duties: You will inspect damage to buildings, carry our defect diagnosis, establish the extent and cost of repairs and advise on reinstatement measures, work alongside insurers and brokers to manage the expectations of clients and stakeholders throughout the claims process. Work as part of a team and provide technical advice, support and input on commercial and technical issues effecting the business.
Your Profile: A track record of assessing and advising on existing structures with evidence of having taken responsibility for your own workload.

You should be an incorporated or chartered member of the ICE or IStructE, or chartered with an equivalent body. A good standard of written and verbal communication will be required. There will be regular contact with colleagues, the public and third parties, well developed interpersonal skills are essential.
